Very authentic. I came across this recipe a while back and cooked it. It came out great. I remember cooking it 2 or 3 times in a two week span. Now I was just searching on Yummly for another recipe for Chinese spicy salt and pepper pork chops, and this one looked the best. Lo and behold! It's the same recipe!
