- 1 brownies (prepared and unbaked recipe of chewy, for a 9 x 13 inch pan, see below or use your favorite recipe or box mix)
- 1 pkg. candy cane (plus 3 cookies, Jo-Jos)
- 1/2 cup coconut milk (Thai style canned)
- 7.5 oz. bittersweet chocolate (or semisweet, with 55% to 60% cacao, finely chopped)
- 1/2 cup crushed peppermint candy (I like these because they have no artificial colors)
- 1/3 cup cocoa (Dutch-processed)
- 1 1/2 tsp. instant espresso (optional)
- 1/2 cup boiling water
- 2 oz. unsweetened chocolate (finely chopped)
- 4 Tbsp. salted margarine (melted)
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
- 2 large eggs
- 2 large egg yolks
- 2 tsp. vanilla extract
- 2 1/2 cups sugar
- 1 3/4 cups flour (all-purpose)
- 1/2 tsp. salt (increase to 3/4 teaspoon if using unsalted margarine)
- 6 oz. bittersweet chocolate (cut into ½-inch pieces)
