It's a repeat! I make it for my own family, not as gifts, and use fresh onions and garlic and homemade vegetable stock instead of chicken bouillon and water. I skip the ham hocks to make it vegan, but it doesn't taste like its missing anything! I told my husband I would be making soup today and he requested this one. Since I only used a small amount of each kind of dry beans last time, I have all the ingredients on hand!
