Simple to make and yummy, but not a traditional cornbread. There was just too much flour and not enough cornmeal. The texture ended up a little more cake-like. Also, with a cup of sugar it is very sweet. Still, I think it is worth a try if you are not a corn bread purist. These would make great corn bread muffins for breakfast, and next time I make this recipe I'm doing it in muffin form.
The recipe calls for 22-27 minutes at 400F, this is a bit too much. I would check it around 18 minutes and add a few minutes at a time if it is not done. After 22 minutes the edges were starting to burn.
