- 6 cups low sodium vegetable broth
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1/2 cup split pea (yellow)
- 1 avocado (optional, for garnish)
- 1/4 cup fresh cilantro (chopped, optional, for garnish)
- Creole seasoning (Emeril's essence, yields 2/3 cup)
- 2 1/2 Tbsp. paprika
- 4 Tbsp. garlic powder
- 1 Tbsp. freshly ground black pepper
- 1 Tbsp. onion powder
- 1 Tbsp. cayenne pepper
- 1 Tbsp. dried oregano
- 1 Tbsp. dried thyme
