  • 1 yellow onion (large, peeled, 130g, 4.58 ounces)
  • 2 stalks green onion (55g, 1.94 ounces)
  • 1/2 carrot (medium, peeled, 55g, 1.94 ounces)
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds
  • 1 tablespoon cooking oil (I used Rice Bran Oil)
  • 6 tablespoons soy sauce (I used Kikkoman Soy Sauce)
  • 3 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons rice wine (mirin)
  • 2 tablespoons yellow onion (grated)
  • 1 tablespoon minced garlic
  • 5 tablespoons red apple (grated, This is equivalent to 1 medium apple – 155g, 5.46 ounces, I used royal gala. Pink lady or fuji apples are ok to use as well.)
  • 1 teaspoon minced ginger
  • 1/8 teaspoon ground black pepper
