I followed this recipe to the tee and these are my observations: 1) Too sweet in my opinion - reduce brown sugar by 20-30g depending on your taste. 2) I would add the additional spice as it really wasn’t that spicy for me. This sauce is quite close to the bbq sauces you get when you order fries at fast food joints. I also would add a little bit of liquid smoke as another reviewer mentioned.
Overall, this is a good starting point for a sauce.

So yummy! I added 1/2 tsp liquid smoke and it took it to another level. I also omitted the chili powder, red pepper flakes, and 1/2 tsp of the ground pepper (my mother-in-law can’t tolerate too spicy dishes).
