- 1 cup blueberry jam (or preserve, I used homemade!)
- 1/2 cup red wine vinegar
- 1 cup water (or chicken stock)
- 1/2 tsp. ground cloves (–, 1 or 2 whole cloves can be used, but need to be picked out afterwards)
- 1 bay leaf
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 pinch ground black pepper
