- 1 apple chicken sausage (Gilbert's Craft Sausages Bourbon, sliced on bias into 1-inch pieces.)
- fruit (Seasonal, to taste)
- walnuts (handful)
- maple syrup (to taste)

Directions
- Cook oatmeal – heat 2 cups water to a boil. Add oatmeal. Reduce heat to medium, boil covered until water is absorbed.
- Heat your sausage – if you don't have a campfire, try slicing on the bias and adding to a hot griddle with a drop of maple syrup on each piece for a sweet caramel flavor. This also works nicely with thin apple wedges.
- Combine your ingredients, breathe some fresh mountain air and dig in!
