- 2 Tbsp. olive oil (you can also use vegetable oil or butter if you like)
- 2 onions (finely chopped)
- 750 grams potatoes (peeled, boiled and mashed)
- 2 tsp. red pepper (you can use more or less than this, depending on your choice of spiciness)

- 10 sheets filo dough (very thin, or 5 sheets of normal thickness filo dough)
- 1 egg
- 4 Tbsp. plain yogurt
- 3 Tbsp. vegetable oil
- water (Some, will be explained later in the instructions)
- 2 egg yolks (to brush the surface of börek)
- vegetable oil (a little, to grease the baking mould)
