OMG this is so good! My husband doesn't like mushrooms but even he said it was good. Will be making it again!

Loved this recipe! Made it as written, with one exception: I had everything on hand except the mushrooms, so I substituted 1 very thinly sliced onion. I will be sure I have mushrooms next time I make it! The dish was delicious without them, but we could taste why they are key.

Yum- had an old bottle of Irish whisky from last St Pattys Day. Good use for it in this recipe-added a nice flavor- very rich.

I had my doubts, but the searing (on the pork that I had at least) worked beautifully and the cream sauce with whisky was a revelation. Very impressed!

Added onions and bacon to the mushrooms and a little sugar to the sauce to cut stone the bitterness.

Delicious! We are onion-aholics though, so I sautéed a chopped onion about a minute before adding the mushrooms. It also gave a bit of depth to the sauce. My chops were very thick, so I prepared a cookie sheet with foil and put them in the oven at 400 degrees (f) when I was done searing them. The timing was perfect! They finished cooking while I made the mushrooms and the sauce.
