Great flavor, flaky and moist. Amounts of lemon used doesn"t add up to ingredient list. If you let blueberries dry a little over a couple of days the liquid is reduced during baking. One trick I figured out for adding butter to scones and pie crust. Use frozen butter and a salad shooter, the butter is ground smaller than any other method, plus very easy.

Love this recipe for making chocolate chip scones! I made them with the blueberry and lemon icing for the first time. I used frozen blueberries and the batter became wet because of the blueberries started defrosting; I didn’t work the batter long and I did let them sit in the fridge for about 20 mins prior to baking; also it seemed like the amount was too much for my liking as it called for 1 cup and 1/2 pint. As the scones were baking they sat in a puddle of blueberry juice. I didn’t end up with crunchy scones. If you use frozen blueberries I suggest to let them thaw then dry them. My icing didn’t come out to what I expected. Thanks!

I would add more sugar next time for a sweeter scone but that glaze makes the scones just pop!!
