I altered this recipe b/c I love lemons and I wanted the lemon flavor to be stronger. I changed the recipe to 2 servings. I added two lemons, peeled and seeded. I also sliced the peel up and let it boil in the fruit mixture for about 10 min. I had a hard time getting the basil flavor, i had thai basil, did not have cheese cloth so I made a tea bag, but I don't think it worked to well. Its faint, but I think other people like it like that. I loved the finished product though. Taste yummy. Made 3 jars. Would make again, but would cut the sugar, I didn't cut it this time b/c I knew I added so much lemon. But I could have cut it by a 1/4 and it would still have a good balance of bitter/sweet.
