- 6 cups frozen blackberries (or fresh, or blueberries, I like to use 5 cups blackberries + 1 cup blueberries)
- 1/3 cup honey (or granulated sugar, I use 1/4 cup honey)
- 2 Tbsp. fresh lemon juice
- 1 tsp. vanilla extract
- 1 Tbsp. cornstarch
- 1 Tbsp. dried lavender (optional)
- 1/4 tsp. kosher salt
- 2 cups all purpose flour
- 2 tsp. baking powder
- 8 Tbsp. salted butter (cold, grated on a box grater just like cheese)
- 1/2 cup buttermilk (plus more as needed)
- 3 Tbsp. honey
- 6 oz. cream cheese (cold, cubed)
- coarse sugar (for sprinkling, optional)
