- 1 cup fresh basil leaves (packed)
- 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
- 1/3 cup all purpose flour
- 1 1/2 cups unsalted butter (soft but cool, cut into small pieces, about 70 degrees – butter should be soft enough to mix well, but firm enough to give some structure to the buttercream)
- 1 tsp. pure vanilla extract
