- 2 lb. beef (chuck, well-marbled)
- 2 leeks (large, cleaned and sliced)
- 8 oz. bamboo shoots (can of sliced, optional)
- 8 oz. water chestnuts (can of sliced, optional)
- 1 1/2 cups agave nectar (organic)
- 3/4 cup low sodium soy sauce
- 1/4 arrowroot powder (or corn starch, they are both drying/thickening agents)
- 3 tsp. sake
- 1 1/2 ginger root (+ tsp fresh grated, or powder)
- 3/4 tsp. chili paste (I use the Sambal Oelek brand)
- sesame seeds (for garnish, optional)
- olive oil (for frying)
- cooked rice
