Just moved to Alabama so learning southern cooking. Love this recipe. I added Blackberries at the end, which worked out well. Invented something to serve it over... toast up some bread, cut it into cruton-sized pieces, and mix that with Greek yoghurt. Serve the Fried Apples over that. Complete, easy late-night satisfaction.
