it turned out absolutely fantastic!!!! I divided the batter in half and made a chocolate marble. It baked for about 15 mins over the stipulated time in my electric oven middle rack.

Absolutely loved making this beautiful delicious sponge cake. My husband is a big sponge cake fan and he is very picky when it comes to sponge cakes and he gives this recipe the thumbs up! It looks amazing when baked in a Bundt pan and a light sprinkle of powdered sugar to add a little bit better presentation.

Amazingly soft on the inside and the flavour is spot on! It tastes better when slightly warm, but the sugar granules on the surface don't melt and add crunch to the cake. Everyone loved the sponge cake on the whole!
