- 1 Tbsp. garlic powder
- 1 tsp. baking powder
- 1 tsp. paprika
- 1/2 tsp. ground black pepper
- 1/2 tsp. oregano
- 2 Tbsp. Cajun seasoning (see substitute below if you don’t have any on-hand)
- 1 egg
- 3/4 cup beer (room-temperature)
- vegetable oil (for frying)
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. garlic powder
- 1 1/4 tsp. paprika
- 1/2 tsp. ground black pepper
- 1/2 tsp. onion powder
- 1/2 tsp. cayenne pepper

The batter itself was delicious and really easy to make. No messes related to breading the fish which was a huge plus.
Two suggestions: season the fish before (if you use lingcod or something that has meaty pieces you might find those pieces a little bland) and maybe use a little lemon to squeeze over the already fried pieces. Gives it a great little extra.
I used the extra batter on the very next day with some Patagonia shrimp and it was perfect.
