  • 1 1/2 white onions (or large yellow, chopped into ¾-inch pieces)
  • 3 celery (ribs, chopped into ¾-inch pieces)
  • 3 medium carrots (sliced lengthwise and cut into ¾-inch pieces)
  • 2 portabella mushrooms (about ½ pound, cut into ¾-inch pieces)
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons chopped garlic (finely, 5 to 6 cloves)
  • 5 cups water
  • 2 pounds potatoes (white, I use about 3 large Yukon Gold, cut into ¾-inch pieces)
  • 1/4 cup tomato paste
  • 1 tablespoon herb (dried Italian, blend)
  • 1 tablespoon paprika
  • 2 teaspoons fresh rosemary (finely chopped)
  • 1 1/2 cups green peas (if frozen, thaw first)
  • 1/2 cup fresh parsley leaves (chopped)
  • ground black pepper (to taste)

    The directions wouldn’t come up. Great starting point though. I added corn and used vegetable broth like the reviews suggested. And a bay leaf. It turned out really good.

    This is awesome! Love the mushrooms- I would maybe add more next time.. but only because I LOVE them. I added some salt and pepper- perfection! ❤️

    Used vegetable stock in place of water. Absolutely loved it. Very hearty. Perfect for a snow day.

    I’ve made this stew twice and love the flavor, texture, and ease of cooking. Great directions. My meat loving friends loved it as well. I use vegetable stock instead of water.

    This was the most amazing meal I’ve ever made on this app. I used a bit more potato’s, and added flour to the sauce to thicken it. Also added bay leaf and thyme. It was so good I’m gonna eat it all week

    Turned out great. I used white mushrooms and veg broth. Other than that followed recipe to a T. Delicious and easy!

    Delicious, a great winter meal. Even my meat and potatoes loving husband loved it. Would definitely make it again.
