- 2 bananas (overripe, mashed, about 1 cup)
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 3/4 cup brown sugar
- 5 large eggs
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 2/3 cup buttermilk (make your own by adding 1 teaspoon white vinegar to 2/3 cup milk and let it sit for 5 minutes)
- 3 Tbsp. unsalted butter (melted)
- 3 oz. cream cheese (softened)
- 2 cups powdered sugar
- 1 pinch salt (optional)
- 2 tsp. vanilla bean paste (or extract)
