Wow this recipe is delicious! My family said it tastes better than our fave restaurant that serves Baklava. We used pecans. Thank you.

If I had known baklava was this easy to make at home I’d done it a lot sooner! It came out so delicious and flaky! I had to get it out of the house so my husband and I wouldn’t eat it all!

This turned out SO good! I made a few tweaks...
Like alot of others, baking time was between 20-25min
I used brown sugar
I used 2 more tsp of vanilla extract
YUM.

The baklava was a little sticker than I’m used to but was still good first time making baklava, long time enjoyer. Thank you for this easy recipe

Great! Watch the time though... I only baked it for 30 minutes... and I forgot the cinnamon, but I think it was better without!

I was disappointed with the outcome of this recipe although I am a very experienced baker. 1) The temperature and length of baking time was way too long and my baklava ended up being over cooked. 2) The recipe for the syrup yielded way too much! When I made a second batch, I reduced the baking time to 20 minutes and that batch turned out perfectly. Just be sure to check your baklava as it bakes so it doesn’t get over baked.

Fantastic and delicious! Made this dessert for my son’s birthday and everyone loved them. This was my first time working with phyllo dough, but it was simple to put everything together.

Amazing! I was so intimidated to make this for my honey. I’ve always heard homemade baklava was better than store bought and I’ve never had anything except the latter.
This is time consuming - not a quick throw together dessert. I will definitely be making this for the holidays to impress family and in laws.
Tip for any first timers - it doesn’t have to be perfect just as consistent as possible. I lost count of layers, and just kept adding them and brushing with butter because it seemed right. I didn’t measure the honey, just followed the walk through version. You’ll definitely need TONS of butter. I think I used 2 packages of phyllo (some tore, some dried out) and close to four sticks of butter.
I’m definitely an amateur chef and was SO proud of myself when this all came together so beautifully.
Update: The more I’ve made this, the easier it’s gotten. I can have it baked and together in an hour. If you love baklava, try this recipe!!!

This baklava is addictive. Easy to make. My sister had it for breakfast with coffee.
I didn't have to bake it as long as the directions recommend and I did not use all the honey syrup - it sure was good in a cup of tea and I'll admit I did eat some straight off the spoon.
This is my new holiday, any day treat.

I didn't have any problems with the recipe until it came to the syrup. Although I followed the printed instructions exactly, the syrup never thickened and thus the baklava never had the "stickiness" required to hold it together even after cooling the requisite time.. The flavor good but I will look at other recipes for a suitable syrup to use next time.
