OMG this was so good! I did what others recommended and did it in a Dutch oven. I was able to sear the meat as directed and put the same pan in the oven. In addition to the spice package, I had some corned beef seasoning that I ground down to a powder and sprinkled it over the brisket. I actually forgot the 2 Tbs of water, and it came out fine. I agree with the author in that I WILL NEVER boil a brisket again. I turned this into sandwiches on rye bread with a Gruyere/swiss cheese blend, and topped it with the onions and garlic-they were so sweet after they roasted in the oven while the brisket was baking. So delicious!!!

So much better than boiled I soaked brisket for about an hour, used Duch Oven Added cabbage and par boiled red potatoes last hour it was so good

Very good, good flavor, onions and garlic good touch. One change I made, cooked in a Dutch oven, no foil!
