- salt (for blanching)
- 1 lb. green beans (trimmed)
- 8 oz. cremini mushrooms
- 1/2 yellow onion (medium)
- 2 cloves garlic
- 4 slices bacon
- 1 tsp. dried thyme
- 3 Tbsp. all purpose flour
- 2/3 cup chicken broth
- 1 1/3 cups half and half
- 1/2 tsp. salt (for casserole)
- 1/4 tsp. black pepper
- 1/2 cup french fried onions

Directions
- Preheat the oven to 400°F.
- Spray an 8- or 9-inch square baking dish with nonstick cooking spray. Set aside.
- Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil.

I blanched beans for 5 minutes and I thought they could have gone 3-4 more minutes.

pretty tastey. i make my own bacon so that made a difference too. I'll make it again but add salt to bring out all the other flavors.

Made it for Thanksgiving, it was delicious, there were only 2 servings left! Will make again, no more Campbell soup for me either.

seems a little runny, but planning to reheat later. tastes delicious and looks very appetizing.
