I also used extra onion and garlic as well as cilantro. Added additional spices too for our taste. A great recipe to keep on hand.

I had already cooked and shredded chicken when I saw this recipe, so I altered it. I used the garlic and onion with the sauce. I used only one pepper, cheated with canned tomatillos and mashed things up with a molcajete then puréed with a hand blender once the sauce reached boil. The dish tasted great, and I’m going to try it again.
