- 1/2 tsp. baking powder
- 1 tsp. baking soda
- 1 tsp. ground cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp. ground cloves
- 1/8 tsp. salt
- 1 large egg (room temperature)
- 2 Tbsp. unsalted butter (melted)
- 1/2 cup dark brown sugar (or packed light)
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup buttermilk (room temperature, can substitute with ½ cup milk + ½ tablespoon vinegar combined at least for 5 minutes or until curdled)
- 1/4 cup apple sauce
- 1/2 cup apple cider
- 1 tsp. vanilla extract
- 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
- 2 tsp. ground cinnamon
- 1/3 cup unsalted butter (melted, I used Gay Lea Spreadables Butter)
- 1/2 cup salted caramel (homemade or storebought)
