This is a great recipe. I decided to substitute the butter for coconut oil (this swap might not be for everyone but we really liked it). I also didn’t have golden syrup so used maple syrup as the recipe suggests. Tasted great. Will be my go to Anzac biscuit recipe!

It turned out super textured and chewy. Clearly, it’s a good recipe. The next time I make it, I will lessen the sugar and increase the dessicated coconut. I deviated from the recipe not as renegade, but I had no golden syrup, was dying to try the recipe and used molasses instead. That decision may well have led to too sweet a biscuit. But in an apples to apples comparison, I will add a tad more coconut. Yum yum. Will attempt to make golden syrup and start again 🙂

Really delicious. I'd suggest buying or making the golden syrup instead of subbing it. I used nonsweetened flaked coconut. I got 38 cookies. The tedious part is getting the flattened cookies loose, so I used my icing spatula to separate them from the glass I used to press. My airbake pans needed the full 10 minutes but my normal pans were perfect in 8 minutes.

Best recipe for Anzac Biscuits. My 5th attempt and they keep turning out perfectly with that slightly crisp outside and soft inside. Love them!
