- 1/2 tsp. bicarbonate of soda

Delicious! The slightly caramel flavor from the heated golden syrup and butter gives it a special appeal. I have used three slightly different recipes, and this one seems best. However, I did have to add some water to form cookies (probably due to variation in flour and oats).
