- 1/2 cup sliced almonds
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter (softened to room temperature)
- 1 tsp. almond extract ( pure)
- 1 cup whole wheat pastry flour (* , or substitute all purpose flour)
- 1 cup all purpose flour
- 2 1/2 tsp. baking powder (I recommend aluminum free)
- 3/4 tsp. kosher salt
- 3/4 cup almond (Breeze Unsweetened Original Almondmilk)
- 1 large egg
- 2 cups mixed berries (choice, fresh or frozen, I used 1 1/4 cups fresh blueberries and 3/4 cup fresh raspberries—if using frozen, do not thaw first)
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar (sifted)
- 1/4 tsp. pure vanilla extract
- 1/8 tsp. almond extract (pure)
- 1 tsp. milk
