Peanut Butter and Hot Pepper Jelly Wings
LAURAHALE34665Description
Sometimes something just sounds good to you. Sunday was approaching and I had to think of something for the Bills game. Many people have pizza and wings on football Sunday but we usually have something more creative. I bought the wings weeks ago when they were on sale and when I was putting the groceries away after shopping this week I need room in the freezer so I took them out. I know that Sophia, my granddaughter, loves peanut butter and jelly so I thought, why not…
I felt jelly would be a little too sweet for us adults so I decided to use hot pepper jelly to give it a kick. Then I sprinkled a few hot pepper flakes into it. Sophia eats chili which Tonia makes pretty spicy so I knew she could handle it. I couldn’t figure out what to serve with them though. Normally you get celery and blue cheese with wings, nothing sounded right with these. If you have an idea though, please let me know.
Ingredients
- 12 chicken wings (halved)
- 2 Tbsp. peanut butter
- 1 1/2 Tbsp. jelly (hot pepper)
- 1/2 tsp. pepper flakes
- oil (Enough, for frying)
Directions
- I bought 6 whole chicken wings and cut the tips off then cut them in half. You need a really sharp knife and you more push down on it than saw with it.
- After your wings are halved, rinse them under cold water and pat dry. Be sure to get all the water off so they don’t splash going into the oil.
- In a large metal bowl mix the peanut butter, jelly and pepper flakes together. Set aside.
