Mine came out perfect I changed the filling to cream cheese filling but it is very similar to pumpkin roll but you do need to be careful rolling the cake after it is cool, make sure the cake is cool before filling it freezes nicely I made these the first week in December, froze then wrapped in foil and placed in a 2 gallon baggies and they were perfect on Christmas Day

good. i will make this again. i plan search for more flavors for the filling.
the cake itself was a little tasteless, but we certainly ate it up.

This was a great recipe! The directions were easy to follow and told me how to make the recipe from scratch. I did adjust the frosting recipe slightly adding 2 more teaspoons of butter and a teaspoon more of milk to make it creamier and easier to spread on the Yule log. It was the perfect balance of chocolate sponge cake, cream filling and creamy chocolate frosting. We used plastic holly leaves and berries to decorate it and it looked very nice. This was the perfect Christmas Eve dessert.
