- 1/8 tsp. cardamom seeds (finely crushed in a mortar)
- 1 Orange (good sized, preferably unsprayed or organic)
- 1 cup all purpose flour
- 3 large eggs
- 1 tsp. pure vanilla extract
- 1 1/2 cups greek yogurt (full fat)
- 1 egg yolk
- 1 pinch salt
- 2 Tbsp. pistachios (coarsely chopped, or more to taste)
- 1 Tbsp. toasted pine nuts (or more pistachios or toasted slivered almonds or chopped walnuts)
- 4 dates (pitted and slivered or sliced attractively)
- 1 cinnamon stick (optional for grating)
- 1 handful pomegranate arils (optional)
- 3 Tbsp. honey (to taste)
