The cake is very dry and heavy. I would suggest adding a stick of butter and a little more milk or use buttermilk instead of whole milk to the recipe to help moisten the batter. I sifted the flour as instructed, I used King Author Flour as I usually do... The frosting turned out okay but it was missing something. The consistency was off. I added an extra half stick of butter and it really helped . The frosting is what makes these cupcakes taste good. My husband agreed the cake was a little dry. Im going to try this again probably adding a stick of butter and either substituting buttermilk or adding more milk to this recipe.
