- 8 oz. bacon (ends and pieces)
- 1 yellow onion (medium, chopped small)

- 1 winter squash (small, I used carnival, about 1 1/2 cups *)
- 2 cups kale (cut into small pieces)
- 2 sprigs fresh rosemary
- 1 bay leaf
- 1 Parmesan (rind)
- 14 oz. beans (can canellini, drained and rinsed)
- 1/2 cup pasta (tiny uncooked)
- salt
- pepper
- grated Parmesan (additional, for serving)
