- 1/4 cup bacon drippings (you can get rid of the rest of it)
- 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
- 2 Tbsp. water
- 2 tsp. granulated sugar
- 2 onion tops (green, sliced)
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 1/4 tsp. pepper
- 8 cups lettuce (torn, pieces, I use mixed greens, but anything will work except Romaine)
- 1 hard-boiled egg (diced)

My Mom used to make this. I don’t recall water being in the dressing. It was a little bland and thin. No water next time. To wilt the lettuce I put the lettuce in the pan until it starts to wilt.

It didn’t wilt as much as expected
