A keeper - we make a pot of this chili once a month! I use aleppo chili flakes in place of cayenne because we like the flavor and milder heat but otherwise make exactly as written. It's delicious as is, and cilantro is optional if you don't like the taste but DO NOT skip the fresh lime juice. We like to take it to the next level and top with fresh avocado, radish and jarred salsa verde.

I used less broth, only 2 cups and added 1 tsp of organic sugar, and I can of fire roasted green chiles. Adding the can of mashed beans was a great addition to the recipe and I would definitely use this idea in other Chile recipes!

Really delicious chili. I added in jalapeños just for an extra kick, and it was excellent. My only complaint was that it didn’t boil down quiet as much as I’d have liked it to, so if I make it again I’ll add a little bit less broth.

I made a huge pot; I thought about doubling the recipe and I should have; it was delish and gone in 15 minutes; the whole pot. I have a family of four and they had a couple of friends so not much left over for seconds.
I added carrots , green and orange bell pepper. It was loaded with good stuff.
I used fresh garlic cloves.
It was gone , gone!!! Got Lots of compliments from picky family😁
