- 1/2 tsp. baking soda
- 1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp. ground nutmeg (or freshly grated)

- 8 Tbsp. unsalted butter (softened)
- 1/2 cup light brown sugar
- 1/2 cup white sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 5 bananas (overripe, mashed, about 1 1/2 cups; I used 5 smallish sized ones because I had them and wanted to use them up)
- 1/4 cup buttermilk (or feel free to use yogurt or sour cream; whatever you have on hand)
- 1 tsp. pure vanilla extract
- 3 Tbsp. bourbon (; preferably Maker’s Mark)
- 1/2 cup toasted walnuts (chopped)
- 1 1/2 cups all purpose flour

- 3 bananas (large, ripe, mashed; about 1 cup)

- 1/2 cup walnuts (toasted, then chopped)
