- 1 Tbsp. sunflower oil
- 3 spring onions (finely chopped)
- 3 cloves garlic (minced)
- 1 bell pepper (I used green, but any colour will do)
- 12 cherry tomatoes (halved)
- 1 tsp. hot chilli powder (adjust as desired!)
- 1 1/2 tsp. smoked paprika
- 400 grams black beans (drained, 240g when drained)
- salt
- black pepper
- 40 grams cheddar cheese (grated)
- 1 Tbsp. fresh coriander (chopped)

Absolutely delicious and very easy to make! Subbed chilli powder for flakes, added extra corriander and served with hot salsa. Will definitely cook this a lot.

It was okay. I think it would have tasted more like a burrito bowl without cooking the tomatoes and using them fresh.

little misleading cook time since brown rice takes 45 mins to boil. Overall tasted alright, recommend tasting often after adding the spices to be sure the flavor didnt get soaked up by the rice, or it can easily become bland.

Taste can be a bit bland. But immediately improves if you double the cherry tomatoes.

Added a chopped white onion and a small tin of sweetcorn, otherwise followed the recipe as is. Delicious - would definitely make again!

Increeeedible! This was way better than I was expecting, but we made a few modifications... We didn’t have brown rice, so we used jasmine rice. To make it lower carb, we used less rice and put the bean / rice / veggie mix over lettuce and also topped with sour cream. We also didn’t have whole black beans (currently in Tel Aviv, and beans are a commodity here) so we used black refried beans. It made the mix a bit mushier, but was still delicious nonetheless! This one will definitely be added to the regular rotation.

Nice and easy, tasty! Added sweetcorn and topped with guacamole and soya yoghurt! Will cook again

This is a really good basic recipe. The only reason why I am giving this 3/5 stars is because this can so easily be improved! I used white rice and olive oil because it was what I had, didn't include the cherry tomatoes (because I don't like them very much) or the coriander (because I didn't have any), used cumin instead of paprika and added a few dashes of hot sauce, added a can of corn in with the can of black beans, used "taco mix" cheese, and added salsa, sour cream, and lime juice to the finished product. I feel like the spring/green onion, garlic, bell pepper, and rice bowl is a really good base for other things too!

The flavor is really good. I ended up making it with refried black beans since that’s all I had at home, and then topped it with sour cream and guacamole so the texture was too homogenous. I’m going to make it with whole beans next time and maybe even throw in some chicken.

Very good! I used cayenne instead of Paprika and I think it gave it the spice it needed. I’m also a big fan of fresh cilantro, so I used that instead of coriander and it came out very well.

I didn’t have any coriander or paprika but it still tasted amazing. I also added sour cream because, well, it’s sour cream.

This one sounded nice but ended up not as flavourful as I'd expected. If I were to make it again, I'd throw in a few extra ingredients and more spices! (Guacamole or fresh avocado? Corn? Sour cream? A little bit of chicken even if that means it's not veggie? Dunno, but something.) Also, I'd probably opt to eat it as a burrito instead of a burrito bowl.
