simple and very good! after the final salt/pepper/lemon juice is added, it’s amazing how it does “pop”! tasted without suggested extras, but they’d only make it better. i think i’ll make some cornbread to eat with it.

Turned out great added a little barfat powder for about half the cook time but lemon juice really made the difference

I added grated carrots and finely diced celery(about 1/2 cup of each) along with 2 bay leaves after blending it. Am very happy with the outcome.

Surprisingly tasty and simple. Make for a week you are low on funds and still please the family.

This is a good base but I prefer to add carrots, vegan boullion, Italian seasonings and a bay leaf. These key ingredient make this soup unbelievably delicious.

Good recipe but like many reviews before, I found that adding carrots, celery and onion worked best. Also, this needs some more flavor, a bit bland for my taste! Used 5c vegetable broth and one cup water. Added recommendations for seasoning from Moosewood Cookbook and it was perfect! Final note, I used an electric pressure cooker on high for 30 minuets and natural release; made a creamy, tender soup 😋

I have made this several times and my entire family loves it! I add carrots for color.

Definitely would make it again. I combined this with a different recipe that included celery and carrots. I also used vegetable stock 4:1 with water.

Excellent. I've used this recipe several times with different people and it's always a hit. I love that it's a one pot dish!

Reading the comments I decided to change up the base recipe a bit. I caramelized my onions a bit more than said. I also added in minced garlic, 3 cups of vegetable broth and 2 cups water, and added a few spices to cook this down with. I also just used an immersion blender to blend it all to the consistency I wanted. Turned out delicious and I look forward to making it again.

First time trying split pea soup. was surprisingly delicious. I did change it up a bit though since I also think salt isn't enough. Used a bell pepper and onion puree I had in the freezer, added some garlic powder and used chicken broth instead of water since I had some at hand from boiling some chicken. Came out amazing!

Great soup! Tasty, simple and quick. I would add some bouillon to it though for more flavor, salt alone does not seem to cut it.

Absolutely amazing! The only pea soup recipe I use. After trying multiple other ones, I have to say this is the best. The paprika makes a world of a difference!
