- 1 cup cane sugar (unrefined)
- 2 cups water
- 2 cups spelt flour (whole)
- 1 tsp. baking soda
- 1/2 cup baking powder (tsp, 5 ml)
- 1 cup ground cinnamon (tsp, 10 ml)
- 1/2 cup ground cardamom (tsp, 5 ml)
- 1/4 cup ginger powder (tsp, 1 ml)
- 1/8 cup clove (tsp, 0.5 ml)
- 1/2 cup sea salt (tsp, 5 ml)
- 3/4 cup apple sauce (unsweetened)
- 3/4 cup cane sugar (unrefined)
- 1/2 cup virgin coconut oil (melted)
- 1/2 cup almond milk (or other plant milk, at room temperature)
- 2/3 cup dried fruits (your choice, figs, apricots, currants, blueberries, etc. chopped)
- 1/2 cup raw cashews (soaked for at least 3-4 hours and rinsed)
- 1/3 cup orange juice (freshly squeezed)
- 1 Orange
- 1 vanilla bean
- 2 Tbsp. maple syrup
