- 2 Tbsp. coriander (leaves, chopped (cilantro))
- 1/2 tsp. red chili powder ((or paprika, adjust to taste))
- 1/4 tsp. turmeric
- 1 tsp. garam masala ((adjust to taste) or Biryani Masala Powder)
- 1 small tomatoes ((optional) chopped)
- 1 3/4 cups water (or thin coconut milk (1¼ cup water for IP))
- 2 Tbsp. oil ((or ghee))
- 3 Tbsp. curds (or yogurt)
- 1/8 tsp. salt (for veggies + ¼ tsp for water)
- 1 small potatoes (or beans cubed)
- 1 medium carrots (chopped (gajar))
- 1/3 cup green peas ((matar))
- 1 bay leaf ((tej patta))
- 1 inch canela ((dalchini))
- 3 clove (( laung))
- 3 green cardamom ((elaichi))
- 1/2 tsp. shahi jeera ((or cumin seeds))
- 1 star anise ((optional, but recommended))
- 10 cashews (fried, for garnish (optional))
- 1 Tbsp. lemon juice ((optional))
