I omitted the fennel seeds and celery (why are they in this recipe?!), but the end product was excellent. My pan was a little on the hot side so when I do this again I’ll keep the heat lower but the end product was still fantastic.

This is not a pizza sauce, and most certainly has nothing to do with NY pizza. Celery, onions and butter have no place in a pizza sauce and dried basil has no place in Italian cooking.
This may be a good pasta sauce; pizza sauce is simple and uncooked as the tomatoes cook on the pizza as it is baked

Delicious!!! The only thing I changed was the garlic. One clove is nowhere near enough! I added 3, I might do more next time.
