This is a good base recipe. A few small changes made this delicious! I only used 1 tbs of ground mustard, 1 tsp black pepper. I used 3 cups of milk and 1 cup of heavy cream. I used Italian bread crumbs, smoked paprika and a little seasoned salt on top. This also works well as macaroni muffin cups. They freeze well too!

Not so great. Kids didn't enjoy it very much and they love homemade Mac and Cheese. They said it was the flavor that turned them off.

It was well received at our Christmas dinner. Great side dish for the beef rib roast. I added 8 slices of cooked bacon that I ground when I blended the mac. into the cheese mix. Personally, I think the 1 and a half cups of bread crumbs was a bit too much. I'll just use 1 cup the next time.

Followed the recipe and it made a soupy cheesy mess. had to make a second box of macaroni and it was way too much food. Bread topping bland. Will not make again.

I've made this at least 10 times but have never put in the ground mustard. I'll try it eventually. I usually substitute 1 or 2 cups of milk for cream. It's easy to double the recipe too which can feed my giant family. Have made it in a Dutch oven and baked it in a casserole dish and both were successful. Don't skip the garlic powder or sautéing the bread crumbs in butter. I also recommend shredding the cheese yourself and mixing in a gruyere or smoked mozzarella. Best mac n cheese recipe ever.

Very good & homey. Warmed us up on a chilly evening. I didn't have any bread crumbs, so no topping. I wanted some meat in it so I cooked some brats in beer and sliced them up into the macaroni. It was good and hearty, had left-overs for luch the next day!

so great and so simple! macaroni and cheese shouldn't be healthy with veggies and light butter, and this is the real deal! steamed veggies on the side and life is so, so good!
