First, the app recipe lists “red potatoes”, but the original recipe states “russet” - something that Yummly may need to correct. The recipe itself was just ok. It called for too much milk - the mixture was too runny for my taste. It didn’t call for salt, but it definitely needs it. The recipe calls for green onions but never says where to put them - mix in, just on top, or both? I did add bacon inside (6 slices crumbled inside and 2 slices on top) and cheese into the mixture (1 cup inside and 1 cup on top) even though it didn’t call for that, and after tasting it, I think it would have been so plain without that added inside. Also, 2 lbs of potatoes would have never filled a 9x13 dish. I put it in a square casserole, and it fit just fine.
