I made this for my husband's b'day and he loved it!
I browned the sausage though and I added the stewed tomatoes to the same pan with the sausage drippings. I also seasoned the sauce with Ms. Dash Garlic and Herb seasoning also some Slap Yo Mommma and a little black pepper. It turned out perfect! I hope to make this again soon.

I only had diced tomatoes so I added a bit of bottled tomato sauce. I fried the sausage slices before adding them to the tomato mixture and it had nice texture. Nice, quick, easy meal with ingredients I had on hand. My husband questioned my use of pesto in a tomato sauce... but I thought it had good flavor.
