The family all loved this dish!! Will definitely make this again. Split the mayo between Helmans (2/3) and miracle whip (1/3), and it was awesome!!!

If you’re worried about carbs use less elbow macaroni. I used whole wheat. You can add more tuna to this for more protein . Good grief people it’s a wonderful dish do not wreck it by whining please.

Been eating macaroni salad like this my entire life. Reminds me of my mom, summer, and picnics.
Just in case somebody might take Robyn Campbell's comment concerning calories seriously, here's the item-by-item breakdown:
pasta: 1600 calories per pound;
mayonnaise: 1440 calories per cup;
tuna: 120 calories for 2 cans;
onion: 23 calories for 1/2 of a medium onion;
celery: 24 calories for 4 stalks.
That all adds up to 3207 calories for the entire dish. Nine servings means each serving is actually 356 calories per serving... but this will be dependent mostly on what mayonnaise you use. If you use light mayonnaise, it will reduce the per-serving number by 97 calories. But you'd have to eat almost 1/3 of the entire salad to get 900 calories out of it. (Almost half of it, if you use light mayo... That's a lot of macaroni salad! :) )
