Didn't have high expectations but DID have a bunch of overripe bananas so I figured I'd give it a try and see what happens. Made according to recipe with no modifications other than adding salt and it turned out great. The kids were crazy about it. Making again since it was so popular.

I wanted to make this for my niece who was visiting from away. This was a total disaster. I added walnuts, which was the only alteration I made to this recipe! After being in the oven for 45 minutes, the internal temperature was only 130 degrees despite the outside being almost totally burned to a crisp. I tried to get the center as close to 200 degrees but it sacrificed the outside. The result is that it came out so mushy it was nearly still liquid. I put the load in the refrigerator for several hours but that did it help much. The loaf tastes DISGUSTING!!! As you can see from the photos, the loaf went into the trash. I am incredibly disappointed as I can’t afford to go anywhere with my niece so I was relying on this banana bread to work out. Now I have to entertain but have no money after having spent nearly $40.00 on supplies for this mess. I am getting so sick and tired putting trust in these recipes just to be totally let down. This is costing me a d**n fortune and I can’t afford it! I am frustrated, disappointed, and overall very let down by this recipe and this website.

turned out awesome. I used olive oil instead of butter, sifted the dry goods, and pureed the bananas before hand. I pulled it out at 45 minutes when the internal temp was 200°

With so much cocoa powder, the batter was quite bitter, so I added 1/2 cup more white sugar, as well as 1/2 tsp salt, as the recipe did not call for salt. I used almond milk instead of half and half for the ganache and it worked just fine. I also baked it in a bunt pan for a little flair. Nice after school snack!

For chocolate lovers, you can't go wrong with this recipe. The flavor combo of chocolate and banana is just decadent! So easy to make, this will be an instant hit for your soirée and will undoubtedly be a coffee klatch favorite. Chocolate...chocolate...and more chocolate!
