- 1 cup yellow onion (sweet, finely chopped)
- 1/2 Tbsp. unsalted butter
- 1 1/2 cups sharp cheddar cheese (grated)
- 1/2 cup mayonnaise
- 1/4 cup fresh basil (coarsely chopped)
- 1 tsp. hot sauce (mild)
- 1/2 tsp. freshly ground black pepper

I used fresh homegrown basil and tomatoes from my garden. Pie turned out perfect, very flavorful onions added a nice sweet taste to compliment the hot sauce and cheese. Next time I am going to add more basil for added flavor. Definitely a recipe I will use until my tomatoes run out.
