- 4 tsp. hot pepper sauce (for mild heat, use more if you like it hot)
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. freshly ground black pepper
- 1 Tbsp. corn starch
- 1/2 cup corn starch
- 2 Tbsp. chinese five-spice powder
- 2 Tbsp. ground black pepper
- 2 Tbsp. sugar
- 3 cups peanut oil (for frying)
- 1/4 cup sesame seeds (toasted lightly in a dry 12" frying pan)
- 3 scallions (chopped into rings)
