- 8 oz. lasagna noodles (2 packages, good quality)
- 1 lb. ricotta cheese
- 8 oz. shredded mozzarella cheese (good quality, sliced or)
- 1 cup parmigiana (grated fresh, -Regiano cheese)
- 1 cup cheese (grated freshly grated Pecorina)
- 8 oz. sour cream (1 carton)
- 1/4 cup Italian parsley (fresh, chopped)
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 2 large eggs (I use jumbo, lightly beaten)
- 4 Tbsp. olive oil
- 2 onions (medium, minced)
- 4 garlic cloves (minced)
- 2 green peppers (chopped)
- 4 oz. chopped mushrooms (1 can)
- 1 lb. ground beef (good, /sirloin)
- 1 lb. mild Italian sausage
- 7 cups tomatoes (Italian-style, AND the juice.)
- 24 oz. tomato paste
- 2 cups water (– more if you feel necessary)
- 2 Tbsp. salt
- 2 Tbsp. rosemary
- 1/4 tsp. cayenne pepper
- 1 tsp. sugar (and no more)
- 5 Tbsp. fresh basil (4 –, chopped)
- 1 bay leaf
- 1/2 cup Italian parsley (fresh, chopped)
